Teaching Evaluations

The following information is a compilation of official student evaluations from my three Associate Instructor positions.

Very engaging and available for help. Never failed the make the course entertaining and informative.

Overall, 10/10 would take again.

By providing various examples, she allowed one to understand how to apply concepts, rather than promoting the memorization of steps. Professor Jarvis showed great interest in the material and allowed students to see real applications of differential equations.

Katy is a fantastic instructor! Her lectures are so clear and organized, and she really cares about making sure students understand the material. I especially like how she always tries to connect what we are learning to real-world, research applications. Additionally, she effectively incorporated technology into the classroom; Katy used an online scheduling app for office hours, and she used MATLAB to help us visualize what we were learning - this effective use of technology had a positive impact on the class experience. Katy is definitely one of the best instructors (graduate student or professor) that I have had the opportunity to learn from!
